Making things is getting easier.
Knowing what should exist is not.
That gap is getting more obvious every month.
You can now generate ten logos before lunch. Twenty landing page concepts. Fifty clips. A hundred hooks. Entire websites. Product photos. Voiceovers. Fake rooms. Fake people. Fake screenshots if you really want to make the internet worse.
The bottleneck moved.
It used to be: can you make it?
Now it is: can you tell which one is good?
That sounds simple until you watch somebody choose the worst option twelve times in a row.
Taste is mostly invisible until it is missing.
You notice it when a site has one extra glow effect and suddenly looks like a crypto casino from 2021. When a caption explains the joke after the joke already worked. When an account has a good visual system but keeps posting things that clearly do not belong in its world.
Nothing is technically broken.
It just feels wrong.
That feeling matters more when production gets cheap.
If everybody has access to the same models, templates, UI kits, editing apps, stock libraries, and generation tools, the advantage is less about owning the brush.
It is knowing when to stop painting.
Taste shows up in subtraction.
Which clip you do not post.
Which feature you do not add.
Which sentence you delete.
Which trend you ignore even though everybody else is doing it.
Which visual you keep using because it still works, instead of changing it because you got bored before the audience did.
A lot of people mistake novelty for taste.
They are not the same thing.
Sometimes the tasteful choice is the boring one.
Use the same font.
Keep the same layout.
Do not add another button.
Run the same type of clip again because the format is working.
Leave the page half empty.
Let the account have one idea instead of seven.
The tools are going to keep getting better. That part is obvious.
Which probably means the weirdly valuable skill becomes being the person in the room who can look at 40 technically impressive options and say:
No.
No.
No.
That one.
And then not fuck with it.
