How to Make Realistic Screen Content

Realistic screen content comes from coherent details and believable behaviour, not from copying a real app pixel for pixel.

Direct answer: To make realistic screen content, establish a consistent fictional world, design the interface around the shot, use plausible data, test the interaction on the final device and record with the camera and edit in mind.

Build one source of truth

Create a short project sheet containing character names, company names, dates, balances, usernames and other recurring details. Every screen should draw from that same information.

This prevents a message from using one spelling while a profile or dashboard uses another.

Design for legibility on camera

Screens lose detail when filmed, compressed and viewed on a phone. Use clear hierarchy, adequate contrast and fewer competing elements. Test the final framing rather than judging only from a desktop preview.

If the screen will be seen for less than two seconds, the audience should still understand the key state immediately.

Make the interaction feel intentional

Rehearse taps, scrolls and transitions. Disable unrelated notifications and keep the device state predictable between takes. The performer should not need to improvise around the interface.

Realism is continuity

The interface feels real when every detail belongs to the same world and every interaction behaves as the shot expects.

Sold Reality is intended for fictional, authorized and creative use. Simulated interfaces should not be presented as proof of real accounts, transactions, messages or results.
